Balaram Neupane
Hi, I'm Balaram, a software engineer with a pragmatic approach to problem solving, currently working at Manana Labs. I work on a diverse set of projects, including helping research labs integrate AI into their workflows, building evaluation frameworks, and controlled information fetching. I'm also practising the mechanics of doing research, and I write here about what I'm learning along the way.
My background spans the AI and backend stack. I started as a Python developer intern at Hyperce, then spent over two years at MLExperts as a machine learning engineer, building document-understanding systems with self-hosted LLMs and custom vision pipelines, and shipping high-throughput FastAPI and Django services. I went on to engineer backend and AI-native APIs for US payroll systems on AWS serverless infrastructure at Niural AI, and I now work at Manana Labs.
